Lantern 1

This was one of my first experiments with parametric design.

As this was made during early covid and I did not yet own a laser, the paper is cut by hand.

The images shown are taken at an angle so as not to "see through" the horizontal sheets of the piece (see Lantern 2). Although this potential for "transparency" initially interested me, I have in more-recent work mounted paper at angles or in curves to mitigate this effect. Doing so allows pieces to be viewed to full effect from a wider range of viewpoints.
